-- Bio --
Bill Colgate started appearing professionally in bands in the early 1970s fronting Uncle John's Dirty Secret and The All Star Disco Band (currently residing in the 9th Circle of Hell). He was fortunate during this period to share the concert stage with such musicians as John Lee Hooker, Chubby Checker, Sha Na Na, Lighthouse and The Stampeders.
However, the acting bug struck and he spent the next 20 years appearing on stage and in films and television, as well as doing radio, cartoon and commercial voice work. He has had the pleasure of working with such notable actors as Tommy Lee Jones, Sarah Polley, Kiefer Sutherland, Anthony Edwards, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Beau Bridges and many others.
Throughout this time, Bill was writing songs for children's theatre which led to writing songs for myself and gave inspiration for his first cd “when dinosaurs ruled the earth”. During this incarnation, he has shared the stage with Ron Sexsmith, Bobby Wiseman, Sarah Slean, Amos Garrett, The Bills and others and, most recently, opened for Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo.
